Sara Vertongen is a Belgian actress, born on October 28, 1976. She is well-known for her work in both theater and television. Vertongen gained wider recognition in 2013 for her role as Dr. Sara Vroomans in the hospital series Binnenstebuiten. She has been involved in the Flemish theater scene and also collaborates with various theater companies, including co-leading the company Het nieuwstedelijk. Vertongen trained at the Studio Herman Teirlinck in Belgium and later continued her studies in England at Dartington College of Arts. Aside from her acting career, she serves as a guest lecturer at the LUCA School of Arts and actively participates in social projects like The Art of Organising Hope, which brings together artists from different countries to discuss important societal issues.
