Maria Dragus is a German-Romanian actress best known for her roles in both European art-house films and mainstream cinema. She was born on May 14, 1994, in Romania but grew up in Germany. Maria gained international recognition for her performance in the critically acclaimed film "The White Ribbon" (Das weiße Band, 2009), directed by Michael Haneke, which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Her role in the film earned her praise for her portrayal of a young girl in a rural German village before World War I.
